Funeral: 3 colours to absolutely avoid… and those to choose

Bright red: too expressive for a moment of reflection.
We love it for adding a touch of energy to an outfit… but not on this day. Red, with its visual impact and its symbolism—joyful or passionate depending on the tradition—can attract attention despite your best efforts. Imagine a gathering in muted tones and, in the middle, a striking red jacket: the contrast is immediate. To avoid any inappropriate interpretation, it's best to reserve this color for other occasions, unless the family has explicitly requested it be worn to honor a specific wish.

Neon or very bright colors: too cheerful for a tribute.
Bright yellow, fuchsia pink, lemon green… These energetic shades are perfect for brightening a sunny day, but much less suitable for an emotionally charged ceremony. They can create an overly festive atmosphere where gentleness and restraint are desired. If you want to move away from black while still maintaining the theme, opt for deeper shades: navy blue, charcoal gray, subtle brown, or very soft beiges.
